Help & Support
There may be times when you feel in need of some support as a parent or carer. Merton offers a variety of parenting courses to support you. Many of these programmes are free and can be accessed in person or online.

Parenting Programs
The Incredible Years Autism and Language Delay Programme (children 2 to 5) supports parents and carers to understand their child’s development and how they can best support them.
The 11 week programme focuses on developing language and social skills and promoting children’s emotional and self-regulation,
Triple P – Positive Parenting Programme – An evidence-based programme offering practical strategies to support parenting and family life.
Triple P: Under 11 is designed to support parents dealing with children who have challenging behaviours, such as frequent shouting, aggression, or hitting—whether it's directed at family members, furniture, or siblings.
Triple P: Fearless is designed for children whose anxiety is affecting their daily life and preventing them, or their family, from engaging in certain activities.
Triple P: Stepping Stones is a programme specifically designed for parents of children aged 5 to 11 with developmental or physical disabilities and disruptive behaviour.
Triple P: Teen is designed for parents who are finding it difficult to manage their teenager's behaviour.
The EarlyBird Parent Programme (under 5’s) supports parents and carers of pre-school aged children with a diagnosis of autism.
The EarlyBird Plus Programme is for parents/carers of young people (4-9 years) with a diagnosis of Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) and for the professionals supporting them.
The Teen Life programme supports parents and carers of children aged 10-16 with a diagnosis of autism.
The Early Bird and Teen Life programmes are held over approximately six weeks
