Links News
Friday 22nd May 2026
Dear Links Families,
It has been another busy and exciting week at Links Primary School!
On Monday, the children in Nursery, Reception, Year 1, Year 2 and Year 3 attended a wonderful Peter Pan Neverland Adventure workshop. This free workshop was run by Perform, was thoroughly enjoyed by all of the children, and their imagination and enthusiasm was infectious!
Some of our Year 5 children also attended top-up swimming sessions. These sessions support the national curriculum aim that all children should be able to swim 25 metres by the time they leave Year 6. Even within the short time of just five sessions, we have already seen fantastic improvements in the children’s confidence and ability. Just a reminder that Wandsworth and Merton have free under 16’s swimming opportunities.
On Thursday, Year 3 visited the Polka Theatre, where they watched a wonderful adaptation of The Tortoise and the Hare. They have also produced some amazing one-point perspective drawings in Art this week.
Year 4 children have been learning about the counties of the United Kingdom. Working in groups, they researched different counties and presented their findings to the rest of the class this week.
Our Year 1 children created amazing animal poetry inspired by the book Walking Through the Jungle.
Finally, our fantastic young learners in Reception have been making recycling posters based on their core text Michael Recycle.
We would also like to give a huge shout-out to our wonderful PTA, who held an Eid cake sale today. Thank you to everyone for your generous donations. All money raised by the PTA is going towards a new trim trail for our children to enjoy.
The sun is finally shining, and we hope you all have a wonderful bank holiday weekend. Just a reminder that the school reopens to all children on Tuesday 2nd June 2026.
Have a lovely half-term and to our families celebrating Eid al-Adha. We wish you Eid Mubarak!
PTA Message - Links Summer Fair

This year, to get maximum involvement and maximum fun for everyone, each year group (parents) will run their own stall e.g year 3 parents run glitter tattoos and craft. The more volunteers you have, the less time each person needs to put in!
There’ll be a competition for best run stall, so parents can use their imagination (with decoration/ presentation) to make their year really stand out!!
Look out for messages in your year WhatsApp group for more information!
