Friday 8th March 2024
Dear Links Families,
It was lovely to see you all on parents’ evening this week. The children were super excited to have you visit and look at their work.
Yesterday, the school was full of excitement and awe as we celebrated World Book Day! It was lovely to see the children (and teachers) dressed as their favourite book character. As part of our World Book Day celebrations, we had a returning visit from the author James Allen. He introduced the children to his new book ‘Spookasaurus’ and spoke about how he creates his books. Miss Maxwell and Mrs Trounce held some exciting competitions; Reading in Unusual Places and Story in a Shoebox. It was very difficult to choose a winner as the entries were amazing. So, they settled on 10 winners who each got to choose a book from the Book Fair. The winners were; Cherry 6M, Oliver 6M, Ariana 5M, Ben 4M, Harriet 3P, Lyla 3P, Pawel 2B, Zakhar 2B, Julian 2T and Lena 1EJ. Well done!
Last week, Miss Maxwell posted an advert for new school librarians. Many children applied and we are also pleased to announce our new school librarians are; Elsa, Noor, Anniah, Harrison, Nashaad and Eva SW. We would like to thank all those who have donated books to the school library, via our amazon Wishlist.
On Wednesday, we had our class photos and that afternoon the children came home with a QR code card. Vancols Photographers will let us know when your photographs are ready to view and order using the QR code on your proof card. If by chance you have not received your proof or it has been lost, please contact the school office for help.

STEM Week
Next Week, we will be celebrating STEM week. During STEM week the children will be taking part in a range of Science, Technology, Engineering and Maths activities. This year's theme is ‘Construction and Time’. Look out for photos on ‘X’ during the week and we will also upload photos to the school website.
