Links News

Saturday 12th July, 2025

Dear Links Families,

It was wonderful to see so many of you at our summer fair yesterday. Thank you to all those who helped at a stall and gave their time to make it successful. Thank you, families, for spending your tokens and supporting us. Big THANK YOU to our awesome PTA for putting on a great summer fair.

Shout out to all of the children who attended the Whizz Dance after school club this term. Yesterday in assembly, they performed their dance routines, which they had learnt. We are looking forward to seeing what other routines they will learn in the Autumn term. Another shout out goes to our amazing Key Stage 2 Scatterball team. On Monday, they competed against other Merton schools at Harris Morden and won the REFSECT award. We are so proud of you all. We also want to praise Lyla for achieving her 200m swimming award and Juno for receiving so many medals in Gymnastics.

Next week, we will be welcoming some students and teachers from Hong Kong. They will be visiting us from Monday until Thursday and are excited to see a UK school in action. All lessons will continue as usual to give them a taste of learning at Links.

Next week is our last week of school! Yesterday, the children got to spend time in their new classrooms with their new teacher; there were lots of smiles and excitement. Following on from this, we will be hosting our annual Meet the Teacher event. On Tuesday, after school, parents of children moving to year groups 1- 6 will have the opportunity to meet your child’s new teacher. During this meeting, you will receive information on what they will be learning, when their PE days are and other useful information. The teachers will be holding two sessions. The first at 3:30pm and then again at 4:00pm. All presentations will be available on the school website after the meeting, if you are unable to attend.

Whole School Picnic

Our last day of school for children in Reception to Year 6 will be on Friday 18th July at 2pm. There will be no after school club on Friday.

For lunch on Friday, the whole school will be having a picnic in the playground, together. Our lovely team at Caterlink will be providing the children with a picnic lunch. As we will all be sitting outside (weather permitting), we would like your child to bring in a picnic blanket (if you have one) for them and their friends to sit on.

Amber Alert

We have been issued with our third amber alert, which is expected to end on 14th July at 9am.

Please keep your families safe by following the advice of the UKHSA.
