Links News- 13th January 2023
Dear Links families,
I hope you’ve all had a lovely week.
Values Awards
Well done to the following children, who all received a Links Values Award for consistently demonstrating the school values: Harriet in 2T, Maruane in 4T and Alesha in 6M.
Attendance
Attendance is an important issue and one of our school development priorities for the coming year is to ensure that our attendance figures are in line with the national average of 95%. The Department for Education is very clear that children are expected to attend school every day that they are well enough and that leaves of absence cannot be granted unless for exceptional circumstances. DfE guidance states that if a child has attendance of less than 90% it is classed as persistent absence.
I know that lots of our families are working hard to get their children into school on time and every day that they are well enough, and I would like to say a big thank you for this. It really does make a huge difference to the children’s social development, learning and progress.
Attendance Bear
Every week in assembly we will now be announcing the three classes with the best attendance for the week. The winning class will then get to look after our attendance bear until the next Friday assembly. Unfortunately, our bear is currently nameless, so we are holding a competition to name it over the next week. The children will get the chance to post their ideas in boxes on each floor and we will announce the winner in assembly next Friday. The person who suggests the winning name will win a special prize!
Here are the attendance figures for each class, since our return to school:
- Morning Nursery- 88.4%
- Afternoon Nursery- 84.1%
- Full-time Nursery- 93.8%
- Rainbow- 91.8%
- Sunshine- 91%
- 1EJ- 90.1%
- 1P- 94.4%
- 2B- 93.6%
- 2T- 89.8%
- 3B- 96.2%
- 3P- 97.6%
- 4M- 95.4%
- 4T- 91.7%
- 5D- 91.4%
- 5KT- 92.9%
- 6G- 95.6%
- 6M- 100%
Well done to 6M who have made an excellent start to the term and have all been in school every day!
