Links News
Friday 17th May 2024
Dear Links Families,
It has been a whirlwind of a week here at Links. Reception has been learning how to recycle with the superhero Michael Recycle. Year 1 went on an educational visit to Battersea Park Zoo. Year 2 went to Furzedown Rec during Science to look for flora and fauna and then create nature sculptures, based on artist Andy Goldworthy’s style. Year 3 embraced the drizzle and had a great adventure at London Zoo. Year 4 have been artists and have been creating camouflage drawings inspired by Henri Rousseau’s Surprised! Year 5 has been debating for and against deforestation. They have been very articulate in sharing their views on both arguments.
And last but not least, our wonderful Year 6 pupils, who sat their SAT exams this week. You showed great maturity and resilience. Well done.
We would like to give a shout-out to all the staff who supported the Year 6 breakfasts this week. The children enjoyed coming together first thing to get ready for the challenging day ahead. Some even asked if it would be a regular thing! Unfortunately not, but we do have an amazing breakfast club available, run by Raphel and his team. You can book your place on the school website, using the booking form under extended services.
Just a reminder that school will close for the May half term next Friday, the 24th May at the usual time. The school will reopen to all children on Tuesday 4th June 2024, as normal.
Sports Day
We are pleased to announce that we will be holding our annual school sports day event for years 1-6 on Thursday, June 13th at Tooting Bec Running Track. This event will only be for the morning and parents are welcome to come and spectate. You will receive more information next week.
Reception and Nursery will have their own sports day at school. The early years team will be sending out more information next week.
