Links Primary School

Friday 19th April 2024

Dear Links Families,

It was lovely to welcome our families back into Links this week. Although this week has been a little quieter than usual, we know the children are only just getting started for their new learning journey.

Our new topics for the first half of this term are;

Nursery and Reception will be learning all about Superheroes.

Year 1 will be learning about animals and their habitats in their topic, ‘Wild at Heart’.

Year 2 will be delving into history and comparing the seaside with the Victorian era.

Year 3 will be continuing to explore the history of Britain; this time learning about Anglo-Saxons

Year 4 are learning about the UK, specifically the counties that make up England.

Year 5 are delving into the Amazonian Rainforest for their topic.

Year 6 are learning about the English Civil War and Shakespeare’s Macbeth.

Shirt with Ties or Polos shirts? Have your say!

Links Primary School is very fortunate to have a school council who act on behalf of the pupils in our school. The school council meet regularly and bring the needs, desire and opinions of the pupils as a collective.

We are reviewing our uniform at the request of the school council, who represented the pupil voice of the school. The children have requested stopping the wearing of school ties and to wear a polo shirt, like the children in the younger years.

The children in years 2-6 have been asked to vote which uniform they would prefer. A shirt and tie or a polo shirt.

We also want your opinion and have sent you a survey monkey via a parentmail on Wednesday. The survey monkey will close on Wednesday 24th April. Please click here to take the survey

 Links Values Award

Our Links Value this half term is Kindness. From Nursery to Year 6 and beyond, we care for Links children inside and outside the classroom.
