Dear Links Families,

End of year message for the Executive Headteacher

Dear Parents & Carers,

As we approach the end of the school year, I am amazed how quickly time passes and how quickly it seems that our children grow. It’s been a busy and successful year at Links, with terrific progress made on the priorities set out in our school improvement plan at the beginning of the year. Your children have again been fabulous (most of the time!!) and are an absolute credit to you as parents.

Thank you, as always, for the way you support the school and your children’s education. In particular, I’d like to thank the parents who helped to make the recent summer fair such a success.

The staff have worked exceptionally hard as always and have once again proved how good they are at their jobs. I would like to thank them for the many occasions where they go the extra mile to support the children and families here at Links.

I would also like to thank Mrs. Anderson and Mrs. Murray for their continued commitment to leading this school. I count it as a privilege to work with such dedicated and knowledgeable professionals who always put the interests of the children and families at Links first. I am also grateful for the way in which they, and other staff, have supported the other schools in the partnership this year.

For those of you who have come to the end of your association with Links I would like to thank you for your support over the last few years and I wish you well as your children move onto the next stage of their education.

It just remains for me to wish you a great summer break and hopefully the sun will continue to shine. I look forward to seeing you again in September for another exciting school year.

Best Wishes

Martin Roughley

(Executive Headteacher)

Dear Links Families,

We have reached the end of the academic year and what an action-packed year it has been. We asked our children what made their learning memorable and we were inundated with memories. From trips to the Polka Theatre, to Sporting Competitions organised by MSSP, to our Links Theatre performances, after-school clubs such as choir, Whizz Dance and cooking club, to Mufti days, cake sales, school fairs, and themed days, including a Roman day, Explorer Day, and a Pirate Day. The Links Team are so proud of every single pupil at Links and the curriculum opportunities that we deliver.

On Friday, we said goodbye to our Year 6 children. We wish them all the best in their next chapter at secondary school and that the values and ethos of Links, will help them to be successful in all that they do. We also say goodbye to their parents, some of whom have been with Links for over 8 years! We will miss you too and would like to say thank you for being part of our community and for all your support.

We also bid farewell to some valued members of the Links Team. Life brings changes for all of us, and sometimes that means moving on from familiar places. While it’s sad to see our colleagues go, we’re genuinely excited for the new adventures ahead of them—and we know they’ll carry their signature Linksiness (yes, we’re trademarking that!) wherever they land.

Whether they find themselves across the globe, elsewhere in the UK, or just down the road in Greater London, they will always have a place in the Links family.

We’re incredibly thankful for our amazing team. At Links, the children are always at the heart of everything we do. We believe our nurturing, inclusive and enriching environment is the foundation of our strong and special community.

Just a reminder that school will reopen on Wednesday 3rd September 2025 at 8:45, children new to Nursery and Reception have their own unique start times.

School day

The Department for Education (DfE) expects mainstream, state-funded schools to provide a minimum of 32.5 hours per week. Therefore, our school hours have adapted to meet this requirement. From Wednesday 3rd September the school gates will open at 8:35am- closing at 8:45am. For children in Reception to Year 6. Any children entering school after 8:45am will receive a late mark.

The school day ends at 3:15 as usual.

Links PTA

We would like to give a shout out to our awesome Parent Teacher Association. Who raised just under £2000 from the Summer Fair. All contributions will go towards a new trim trail in the playground.

They also raised £1072.80 to spend on new books for the school library and class book corners. A big thank you to all those who took part, Polly 2EJ, Harriet 4M, Nathaniel 5GP, Molly 1T, Ada 2EJ, Mali 4M, John 2EJ,  Lucy 1T, Maria 3T, Beatrix 3B, Cara S 3T, Amara 3B, and Juno 5GP.

Congratulations to the readathon winners: Molly, Ada, Amara, Mali and Juno, who read for the most minutes/hours of reading in their year group. Together, these 5 children read for over 48 hours! They each received a book voucher.

We are so grateful to all of their support and contributions to Links. The make such a difference to the experiences of our children and support our Links Community.

Next year, we will have many more PTA events. The PTA are always looking for an extra pair of hands at events. Why not join the next PTA meeting in the Autumn term.
