Links Primary School

Links News - Friday 21st June 2024

Dear Links Families,

This week at Links we have been celebrating Arts Week, and what an action-packed week it has been! On Monday, our week kicked off with an improvised short performance by Mrs Trounce and Miss Eades-Jones. Followed by Art Afternoon, where all the classes were taught an art lesson by a different teacher. I must say that we have some future artists, here at Links. On Tuesday Miss Maxwell played her Saxophone for us, and the children in years 5 and 6 did a publishing task and the children in Years 3 and 4 did an illustration task with an author. On Wednesday, our choir performed for us in assembly and then went to perform at the annual Singfest concert. Classes performed for each other on Thursday, followed by our Early Years classes, Year 1 and Year 2 classes taking part in a drama workshop. The week ended with all children taking part in a dance workshop, which we all performed at today’s assembly.

We would like to thank all our teachers at Links Primary, who put in an incredible amount of effort to make this week amazing. We would also like to thank all the volunteers who have given us their time to share their passion with our children. Big shout out to Prithy (illustrator), Erin (author) and Izzy (choreographer) and to the Links ‘The Arts’ Team.

Mufti Day

Next Friday, the 28th June, we will be having a mufti day to support our PTA. Children are invited to wear their own clothes for the day (no school uniform), but are asked to bring in a bottle (a full bottle). This could be an alcoholic beverage (wine, beer, champagne), a bottle of fizzy soda, or a bottle of bubble bath, the choice is yours! All bottles will be used in the Summer Socials Bottle Tombola.

Don’t forget that Links Primary’s Summer Social is on Friday 5th July 6pm- 8pm.

Meet the Teacher

On Wednesday 3rd July, we are holding our annual ‘Meet the Teacher’ presentations. This is an opportunity for you to meet your child’s new class teacher and to gain information on what your child will be learning next year and any resources, that you will need to supply in September. There are two meetings which you can attend. The first at 3:30pm or the second at 4:00pm. If you are unable to attend, please do not worry, as we will email you the teacher’s presentation.

We will also be emailing you early next week, to inform you who your child’s class teacher is next academic year.

Just to note, we are unable to accommodate prams within the school building. All prams are to remain in the school playground. All children are to stay with their parents.
