Links Primary School

Links News

Friday 21st March, 2025

Dear Links Families,

We have thoroughly enjoyed the sunshine this week at Links and the Links Garden is blooming, thanks to our little team of green-fingered gardeners. This week, our year 4 pupils attended a Sublime Science and Art workshop at Raynes Park Secondary School. Some pupils made slime, some made rockets and they all made pinch pottery. On Thursday, the Links choir performed at Singfest. Where they performed to and with other schools in the borough. In assembly today, we got to see the choir in action and they were amazing! Today, Coach Cardisha took some of our year 3 and 4 pupils to a Tag Rugby competition, they demonstrated great sportsmanship.

We are extremely proud of how our pupils represent Links when learning outside of the school, they consistently demonstrate our three rules; ready, respectful and safe.

The Easter holidays are nearly here. The last day of school will be Friday 4th April at 2pm. School will reopen for the summer term on Tuesday 22nd April.

Have a lovely weekend and hoping to see you all at our first ever table-top sale this Sunday 10am -12pm.

Park Play

Park Play is an organisation working at various sites around Merton (and around the UK) to put on free weekly play in the park for kids.  https://park-play.com/

They would love to bring Park Play to Figges Marsh so the kids in the area can enjoy some games and fun in the outdoors! In order to do this, we need to find some volunteers to help run the sessions.

Park Play provides training, equipment, and ongoing support to volunteers, and they have loads of games and activities to choose from each week, so there's no pressure on volunteers to come up with games!

We're looking to recruit at least eight volunteers in total so that volunteers at Figges Marsh would do just one session per month on average and always work alongside at least one other volunteer.

If you're like to learn more, please contact laura.collins@gmail.com (The Friends of Figges Marsh, working with Park Play)
