A message from the Executive Headteacher
It feels really strange that I’m writing to you at the end of the Summer term when it feels like we’ve had very little summer weather yet. Hopefully, things will improve in that respect soon.
There’s been a lot happening this year at Links as we have continued to develop our provision and curriculum this year. The children have continued to work hard and make good progress in their learning. I am constantly impressed by how well our children represent our school, whether that be when we have visitors to school or when our children are on educational visits themselves. Thank you for the many ways in which you support your children, I’m sure you are very proud of them, as are we.
It’s been a very different and exciting year for myself personally as we have continued to develop the partnership with Cranmer Primary School and we are very much looking forward to extending the partnership with Haslemere Primary School in September.
In the meantime, I am very grateful to Mrs Anderson and Mrs Murray for the excellent way they continue to lead the school. They do a great job, and are incredibly committed to ensuring that your children have the best possible experience at school.
I would also like to take this opportunity on your behalf to thank all the staff who work tirelessly to ensure that your children are given every opportunity to achieve their potential.
The children have experienced several trips again this year, including our residential trips to Sayers Croft for Year 4 children and PGL Liddington for Year 6, and it has been great to see so many family members at various events recently including the Summer Social, (despite the rain), Sports day, Year 6 Show, Musical Extravaganza to name just a few.
For some of you, this may well be the end of your time at Links, so we wish you and your children well as they move on to secondary school. Thank you for all your support over the last few years.
It just remains for me to wish you a great summer and I look forward to seeing most of you in September.
Mr Roughley
Dear Links Families,
And just like that, another year is over. We would like to say goodbye to all of the children and their families leaving Links this year and wish them all the best for their next chapter.
We also say goodbye to Miss Potter, Ben and Suzanna, who are leaving Links to start their new adventures. We wish them all the best and know that they will continue to be amazing!
Our Year 6 leavers went home with a lovely bag of goodies from the school. One of the items inside the bag was an Usborne Illustrated English Dictionary which was kindly donated by the Rotary Club of Morden. Thank you to John de Ronde for setting this up for us, we know that every child in year 6 will have access to an illustrated dictionary that will help them with their learning.
Today we had our first whole school picnic, which was amazing. It was so nice to have all the children from Reception to Year 6 have their lunch in the playground. We think this might be our new Links tradition.
We hope that you have a lovely summer and we are looking forward to welcoming you back at Links Primary on Wednesday 4th September, at the usual time.
Have a lovely summer and see you in September,
Natalie, Vicki and the Links Team
