Links News

Friday 28th February, 2025

Dear Links Families,

It has been a very busy first week back. We started the week with our year six classes going to Canons House, where they saw our art submissions for the Tri-School Art Exhibition and also took the opportunity to sketch in the garden.

This week, the children in nursery, reception, and year one took part in their first tennis lesson coached by AELTC (Wimbledon Tennis). They will continue with these lessons every Thursday morning until the end of the term. On Tuesday we welcomed Andrea and Louise from Wimbledon Tennis who held an assembly for the children.

Yesterday we welcomed our governors into school for our annual Governors Day. During the day they got to see lots of learning and were really impressed with the children's behaviour for learning and the calm and attractive learning environment.

Today we welcomed poet Neal Zetter to Links, where he held a whole school assembly followed by individual class reading sessions.

Book Fair

Book fair is back! Every day next week - Bottom Hall - 3pm to 3.30pm

School Photo Day

We are very excited to have Vancols, the school photographers back in school on Tuesday and Wednesday, to take individual and class photos. Please make sure that your child is wearing the correct uniform on this day. If your child has PE on Tuesday and Wednesday, they should wear their school uniform and bring a pair of trainers with them to change into.

After their photo shoot, your child will bring home a proof card with a QR code. You can access your child's photo by scanning the code on the card and copies of the photo will be available to be ordered online only.

World Book Day

We will be celebrating World Book Day at Links on Thursday 6th March 2025! We will have a week full of fun reading activities and promoting a pleasure for reading. We will have TWO competitions for everyone to join in with - Reading in Unusual Places and writing a Character Poem! Deadline is Wednesday 5th March.

Children are welcome to dress up as their favourite book character on Thursday 6th March - please do not feel the need to buy any new costumes, homemade ones are best!
