Links News- 28th June 2024
Dear Links Families,
Once again it feels like the week has flown by. It’s been an exciting week with lots of our children representing the school brilliantly. Year 2 had a great visit to Brockwell Park, while Year 5 performed the Djembe to their parents, in their drumming showcase. In addition, several children from Years 5 and 6 took part in a football friendly at St Thomas of Canterbury Primary School. A big thank you to Coach Cardisha for arranging this. We would also like to thank some of our amazing year 6 pupils who helped run this term’s Book Fair, with Niki. They did a fantastic job of publicising the event, running the class visits and managing the stall after school, which reminded us very much of an episode of The Apprentice.
We received some exciting news this week, Banji Alexander’s (an author who visited Links at the beginning of the year) new song has been released, but the reason we are so excited is that it stars Zayn and Martha from 6M. We couldn’t be more proud of them both! Check out the video by clicking on the link below.

We are looking forward to see you all at our annual summer social on Friday 2nd July 6pm til 8pm.
Hot Weather Reminder
As the warm weather looks set to continue, please make sure that your child has a hat with them to wear when in the playground. Don’t forget to write your child’s name on it. All pupils should bring to school a water bottle, which can be refilled at school if needed. We would also like to remind you to apply sunscreen, where appropriate, to your children before coming to school.
Meet the Teacher - a reminder
On Wednesday 3rd July, we are holding our annual ‘Meet the Teacher’ presentations. This is an opportunity for you to meet your child’s new class teacher and to gain information on what your child will be learning next year and any resources, that you will need to supply in September. There are two meetings which you can attend. The first at 3:30pm or the second at 4:00pm. If you are unable to attend, please do not worry, as we will email you the teacher’s presentation.
We will also be emailing you early next week, to inform you who your child’s class teacher is next academic year.
Just to note, we are unable to accommodate prams within the school building. All prams are to remain in the school playground. All children are to stay with their parents.
