Links News
Saturday 28th June, 2025
Dear Links Families,
Yesterday, our new Reception and Nursery classes attended their welcome meeting and stay-and-play session. It was lovely to see so many smiling faces, full of excitement and enthusiasm as they begin their journey with us. A big thank you to Caterlink for showing our new children how yummy our school dinners are! To School Uniform Direct for displaying and talking through our uniform options, to our amazing PTA who welcomed our new families with open arms and to the Early Years team for hosting a wonderful event. On Friday 11th July, we will be doing a transition morning for years 1-5, where your child will spend the morning in their new classroom and you are invited to attend the meet the teacher meetings on the 15th July at 3:30, to meet the teacher, to find out about what your child will be learning and what you need for September.
Thank you to all of our children and parents who bought books from our book fair. It is always a lovely sight to see children excited to read and we love to read! The wonderful thing about the book fair is that it has amazing books but with every book you buy, Scholastic gives the school books for our classrooms and library.
On Wednesday, our Year 5 classes visited Burntwood Secondary School for a science investigation. Professor Element’s research papers were stolen and the thief left behind a mystery powder at the scene of the crime. The children had 6 suspects, 6 powders to compare the mystery powder to, and 4 different ways to investigate the powders! It was a terrific event and such a great learning opportunity for our children. A big thank you to Azmina and the science team at Burntwood. Be sure to check out the photos in Links in Action or the fun reel on Instagram @links_primary_school
