Links News
Friday 2nd May, 2025
Dear Links Families,
While the sun has been shining, we have been busy learning both inside and outside of school. Today our team of Year 5 designers and engineers went to Reeds Independent School to take part in the Launch Car final. Prior to this, they had been busy in school designing their vehicle for the challenge ready to compete against other schools. They came second in the competition today and we are very proud of them.
Another team of children from year 3 and 4 represented the school at the All Stars Cricket Development Competition at AELTC Community Tennis Centre. They enjoyed the sunshine and had a good time playing cricket against other teams.
Walking around the school this week has been fun! Jungle explorers from year 1 have been looking for animals in their role play area and working with Kimba as part of our Oracy project. Year 6 have been working hard with their final preparations for the upcoming SATs and year 4 have been learning about decimals and have been representing decimals on place value charts. We also got to listen to some amazing writing from year 2 and year 3 children in assembly today. We were blown away by their use of sophisticated language, punctuation and handwriting. It really is a treat going around the school and seeing all the wonderful learning that is taking place.
Finally, please remember we have a long weekend ahead of us. It is a bank holiday on Monday so school will be closed but we will look forward to seeing you all on Tuesday. Let’s hope the sun stays out!
