Links News - 6th January 2023
Dear Links families,
Happy New Year to you all and welcome back to another busy term at Links. As with the start of every term, we say hello to new families joining the Links community. I am sure you will all join me in wishing them a warm welcome.
What is my child learning?
I know that lots of children, when asked what they’ve learnt today, will reply with ‘nothing.’ I can assure you that they do get taught a lot in school! If you would like some more information on what your child is learning this term, please take a look at the curriculum pages on our school website.
Back to school advice
I am sure lots of you will have seen in the news about the rise in scarlet fever, covid and flu over the past few weeks. The government has issued some advice for families on what to do if your child is feeling unwell and has a fever over the coming weeks.
Extended Services
Bookings are now open for this half term for breakfast and after school club. If you would like to book a place, please complete this form. Please note that all booked places will be charged for.
Gym Equipment
Just a gentle reminder that the children should not use the gym equipment in the playground after school.
Clubs
Information about clubs was sent out earlier this week. There are still places available in Coach Cardisha’s basketball club for Years 4, 5 and 6. If your child is interested in taking part, please sign up on Parentpay.
Christmas Collections
Thanks to all of the generous donations we received at the end of all of the Christmas performances, we were able to raise almost £330 towards new resources for school. Each class is being given a budget to spend towards new resources that the children can use during wet playtimes.
Links Values
Last term we focused on responsibility and resilience. During this half term we will be focusing on respect. Today in assembly, the children shared lots of ideas about what it means to show respect to each other and also how we can show greater respect for the environment.
I hope you all have a lovely weekend,
Lee and the Links Team
