Links News
Friday 7th February, 2025
Dear Links Families,
Today, it was lovely to see so many of our children dressed up in digits for NSPCC Number Day. Miss Paha the Maths Lead planned a day of fun activities involving maths and numbers. Alongside this, teachers also introduced the book, 365 Penguins by Jean-Luc Fromental. A family mysteriously gets a penguin delivered to their door every day of the year! Imagine that! Not only was it a good story but it prompted lots of discussion about Maths and numbers.
At the beginning of the week, Year 6 went to the science museum to support the learning they have been doing in Science this term. For the rest of the week, they have demonstrated their resilience and dedication as they tackled their second set of mock SATs. We are very proud of the way they have applied their learning this week.
Not only have we been busy in school this week but there are also a lot of activities to take part in this weekend. On Saturday, Canons House is opening its doors to the public to view the Tri-School Art Exhibition on the theme of ‘Our Local Area’. If you have the time, do go along and see the fabulous artwork produced by some of our children.
Junior Parkrun on Figges Marsh
On Sunday, we are launching our headliner event for Figges Marsh Park Run. We will be meeting on Figges Marsh at 8:45 for a fun, quick warm-up before we run, jog or walk 2K. Anyone aged 4- 14 can join in and it is a great way to start the day. It would be lovely to see lots of our children there.
