Links News- 7th July, 2023
Dear Links Families,
It’s been quite an unusual week at school due to the two days of industrial action but I would thank you for your patience and understanding this week. There is a lot happening over the next two weeks so please make sure your children are in school every day so that they don’t miss out.
I’m particularly looking forward to seeing many of you at the PTA ‘Summer Social’ next Friday evening and I would like to thank the members of the PTA in advance for all their hard work in preparation for this event.
Staffing
As is often the case at the end of term we will be saying goodbye to some of our staff team here at Links.
Mrs Durmaz is moving on to a new challenge at Hillbrook Primary School
Miss D’Silva is relocating with her family to Wiltshire
Mr Willems (aka Hubbub) will also be making music elsewhere.
I am sure you will be joining me in thanking them for their hard work and commitment towards the children here at Links and we wish them well in the next phase of their careers.
We are delighted that Miss Thurlow will be returning to Links and we will welcome two additional members to our team.
Mrs Grierson will be joining us as a class teacher and Mrs Slinger will be stepping into Miss D’Silva’s role as inclusion lead.
We would also like to thank Mrs Diaz, Miss Sardar and Ms Paramsothy who will be moving on from Links at the end of this term.
Performances- a final reminder
This week, all parents with a child in the summer performances received a Parentmail. Please read the Parentmail carefully and ensure you reserve your seat via Parentpay. We are asking parents to reserve 2 seats only and email enquiries@links.merton.sch.uk, if you would like to reserve more. This is to ensure all children have someone to come to watch them and we also have to be mindful of the number of people we can have in the area.
Year 6 will be performing their show ‘Dream On’ a musical take on Shakespeare’s ‘A Midsummer's Night Dream’ on Thursday 13th July at 5pm.
Reception and Nursery will be hosting a singing assembly for their parents on Friday 14th July at 9:15am and again at 2:15pm. Please only attend one.
Pupils in Years 2, 3 and 4, will be performing their Musical Extravaganza for parents, on Tuesday 18th July at 9:15am and again at 2:15pm.
