Links Primary School

Friday 10th November 2023

Dear Links Families,

Another Friday has come around very quickly once again. It was great to see so many of you at our parent consultation evenings this week. If you haven’t yet had a chance to speak to your child’s class teacher, please make contact with them as soon as possible.

It was my privilege to accompany a group of children to the annual remembrance day ceremony at Cricket Green in Mitcham. A wreath was laid by one of our Y6 children on behalf of the school. Thank you for donations towards this year's poppy appeal by encouraging your child to buy a poppy.

Our Year 5 children have begun their rehearsal for their concert at the Royal Albert Hall in the new year and a group of Y5 and Y6 children took part in a hockey festival.

Staff Training Day

Please remember that school will be closed for staff training on Friday 24th November.

Monday - Wear Odd Socks!

To highlight the start of Anti Bullying week, we are asking the children to come into school on Monday 13th November, wearing odd socks. Odd Socks Day is a day when schools, workplaces, and individuals join together to show that it's okay to be different and to stand up against bullying and discrimination. Looking forward to seeing children and teachers wearing their odd socks!

Bags2Schools

Don't forget that next week the PTA are raising money by collecting any unwanted men’s, ladies’ & children’s clothing, paired shoes, handbags, belts & accessories as part of Bag2School. So you can clear out your clutter and raise much needed funds for the school at the same time! You can drop donations at the school gates any morning next week. Please make sure the clothes are in good condition and are in bags. Uniforms, workwear, pillows, duvets or pieces of fabric are not accepted so please don't bring them.

All donations need to be dropped off by 9am on Friday 17th November 2023.

Children In Need - Friday 17th November

On Friday we are having a MUFTI Day to raise money for the charity, Children in Need. A MUFTI Day is a day where the children can wear their own clothes. To raise awareness of this event, we are asking children to ‘be spotacular’ (wear something spotty) and donate £1.
