Links News
Friday 23rd May, 2025
Dear Links Families,
This week, the Year 3 trip to London Zoo provided a fantastic educational experience outside the classroom. It was delightful to see our students engage with their learning in such dynamic surroundings.
Our Reception and Year 1 children have also been developing their skills on balance bikes, which has not only been fun but has also encouraged physical fitness and coordination among our youngest learners. It was great to see them whizzing around the playground.
Thank you to our PTA who has also been hard at work this term, successfully hosting two lively discos that were enjoyed by all. Keep an eye out for the Eid cake sale that will take place after the holiday; it promises to be a yummy event!
As we head into the half term break, we hope you and your families have a restful and enjoyable time together. We look forward to welcoming everyone back to school on Monday, 2nd June, ready for more exciting adventures ahead.
Just a reminder that school will be closed next week.
We will welcome all children back to school on Monday 2nd June 2025.
Little Links

After a little hiatus, we are pleased to announce that Little Links is back, every Tuesday 9am -10am.
Please tell your friends, give it a shout-out in the local community via social media or grab a couple of flyers and pop them on shop/cafe notice boards!
Looking forward to seeing lots of toddlers (0 - 4 years) for Learning through Play on Tuesday 3rd June.
School Streets
As you know both Frinton and Gunton Road are school streets. This makes it safer for our children, who are walking to school, as it minimises vehicle traffic. However, some vehicles are exempt from this and can drive down them. Therefore, please do not let your children run, scoot or play on them. Not all roads are school streets and they need to be aware of road safety.

Links Summer Fair
1) IT'S COMPETITION TIME!
We are running another competition to design a poster and the estate agent notice board sign for the school Summer fair!!
The winners will receive some tokens to spend at the fair, and have their designs displayed for all to see!!
They need to say the following:
Links School Summer Fair
Friday 11th July
3.30-5.30pm
You can include (or draw) lucky dip, tombola, food, drinks, bouncy castle, hook a duck, beat the goalie…
Your entry needs to be submitted by Monday 2nd June - you can either email the entry to the pta (ptalinksprimary@gmail.com) or hand in to the school office….so get creative this half term!!
2) Aspire Estate Agent Board Fundraising
Due to the previous success of the advertising boards, Aspire Estate Agents have kindly agreed to sponsor the fair (which is on Friday 11th July, 3.30 - 5:30pm).
For every home that agrees to have a board advertising the Summer Fair outside their property the PTA will receive £10 - such an easy way to raise money for the school!
The company will put the boards up around 2 weeks before the fair and take them back down the week after the event.
Please use this link to sign up to this amazing opportunity:
3) Volunteers for the Summer Fair
In order for the fair to be a success, we need as much help as possible!! We will be sending out a sign up sheet shortly to volunteer your time on the day - it could be helping with set up before school pick up, or helping on a stall. We were particularly wondering if anyone would be able to run a simple henna stall, and if there were any parents who fancied being a goalie for a 'beat the goalie' game! We would also love to hear any ideas for stalls or other activities - we welcome all suggestions!
(email ptalinksprimary@gmail.com)
Thank you for your support

Links in Action
Year 1 enjoying the ‘Let’s Build’ performance at The Polka Theatre.
Year 3’s Adventure to London Zoo!
They visited the Butterfly House, where the butterflies landed on their clothes, caps and hands. It was amazing! They even saw a mummy gorilla with her baby!
They got to see lots of animals! They loved seeing the tiger, snakes, lions, gorilla and the massive tortoise, who moved surprisingly fast!

Check out the penguins! They were so cool swimming together and it was amazing to see the giraffe up close and in real life!
Look who we caught reading in the library…… 4M were being book worms.

Balance-ability was in full swing at Links. Here are our Reception children whizzing around with the Merton instructor.

Year 6 had a Worry Ninja workshop, to support their transition to secondary school.

Inspired by the artist Jackson Pollock, the children in Reception have been using pipettes and straws to drop and blow paint, to recreate this beautiful artwork.
This week, Lincoln and 2KB have been creating clay sculptures, based on the theme ‘nature’. Yesterday, they painted their pieces to bring them to life.
