Links News
Friday 6th September, 2024
Dear Links Families,
It's been great to see all your children back at school this week despite the wet weather. There were lots of smiling faces at the school gates on Wednesday morning and not just from the parents. We want our children to work hard and make good progress at school but that happens best when the children are happy at school and feel well cared for. I know that all the staff will continue to do all they can to ensure that the children are safe, secure, and happy at school.
Over the summer break, garden works were carried out on the old maze site. Our fabulous PTA’s fundraising efforts have now come to light and we are thrilled to show off our new Links Garden. This week, each class got the opportunity to visit the garden, which they love. Scroll down to the end of Links News for photos of the garden.
Behaviour
In response to the behaviour survey we sent out to parents, staff and pupils, we have reviewed our behaviour policy. We are in the process of finalising it and we will be sharing it with you shortly. However, we would like to share with you that this week we introduced our three new school rules, Ready, Respectful, Safe. It has been lovely to see the children responding to this so quickly and sensibly.
Clubs
Booking for extra curricular clubs will open on Monday. Keep an eye on your Parentmail for more information and to sign up to a range of exciting activities!
Little Links
Little Links playgroup will be re-opening on Tuesday 10th September from 9am -10:15am. Please see the link for more information. https://www.links.merton.sch.uk/Little-Links-Playgroup/
Updates and reminders
- Please do not bring glass water bottles into school, as we have had incidents of them breaking in class.
- Our healthy tuck shop will now be on Fridays. Children from Year 1 to Year 6 can buy a snack at playtime for 60p. It would be helpful if the children have the correct change.
- PE with Coach Cardisha and Music lessons with Miss H will be restarting next week. We would also like to welcome Ms Reuss, who will be teaching music on a Wednesday.
- Please remind your child not to scoot or cycle in the playground and a reminder that all bikes and scooters are left at your own risk.
INSET Days
There has been an amendment to our term dates. Links Primary School’s remaining 3 INSET days will be on Friday 25th October 2024, Monday 21st July and Tuesday 22nd July 2025. This means that the last day of school will be Friday 18th July 2025.
Extended Services
If you require Breakfast and After School Club, you must book a place using the booking forms. You can find these on the Extended Services tab on the school’s website. https://www.links.merton.sch.uk/Extended-Services-Home/
Wishing you all a lovely weekend
