Links News
Friday 17th January, 2025
Dear Links Families,
It has been a quieter than usual week at Links. All of the children have been busy learning their new topics. This week, we received some very persuasive letters from year 3, who were asking for a Roman themed party, as a reason to celebrate the end of their Roman topic. Our year 4 children have been telling us lots of facts about Antarctica and penguins . And our year 5 and 6 children attended a Cyber prevention talk by the Metropolitan Police.
If you would like to know more about Cyber Choices, please see the information tabs below.

My Child At School
We know we are repeating ourselves, but we would like to give a final push to all those parents and guardians, who have not signed up for the My Child at School App. It is a really quick and easy way to receive updates, reminders, letters, trips and clubs. Moving forward, this is the only way that we will be communicating with you. Thank you to all those parents and guardians who have signed up already.
Don’t forget to sign up/ in with the email address you use for school and remember that you can set it up with the language of your choice.
If you have questions, please reach out to our school office, who will be happy to help.

NSPCC Number Day
We are delighted to be supporting the NSPCC by taking part in Number Day on Friday 7th February 2025.
We will be having a fun day of maths activities as well as taking part in Dress up for Digits. Pupils can wear an item of clothing with a number on it (football shirt, cap, netball shirt or even a onesie!). Or, they can get even more creative by dressing in a maths or numbers theme. If you do not have anything number themed at home, do not worry, you can wear anything patterned or with shapes on it. To help raise money for the NSPCC we are asking for donations. If you can, please send in a donation to support the NSPCC’s work. This can be given to the class teacher on the day.
It all adds up
We are really looking forward to all the fun of Number day and we really appreciate your support. All the money we raise at Links Primary School will make an enormous difference to children today and help the NSPCC be there for children tomorrow.
Calling all Artists!
As requested by one of our parents, we have registered for the Royal Academy Young Artists’ Show 2024. This is an exciting opportunity for students aged 4-18 to exhibit their work on site or online at the Royal Academy of Arts. Work can be submitted between now and the 5th March 2025 and is easy to do. You just need to upload a picture of your work or sculpture and then add a brief description of the work. Please see the poster below for more information.
