Secondary Transition
The transition between primary and secondary is a big one, but we are here to help prepare the children as much as we can in this next phase of their educational journey
Secondary schools have open days during the Summer term (after Easter) in Year 5 and the beginning of the Autumn term (up to half term) in Year 6. Visit as many schools as you can to get a feel for what might suit your child. Look at each school's admission criteria to make sure you are eligible. Select 6 schools on your application form. If you don’t you could be allocated a school that you did not apply for. If you would like to apply to schools outside the borough then you can do it on the same application form.
The deadline for submitting your Secondary school application is the end of October and should be done online. You can use the link here https://www.gov.uk/apply-for-secondary-school-place

If you are interested in applying to Graveney, Burntwood and Chestnut Grove Secondary Schools your child will need to take the Wandsworth test. This takes place in September of Year 6 and you must register your child by the beginning of September.
If your child has an EHC plan, the process is slightly different and you should not just complete the usual form. Please speak to Kirsten Slinger SENCo
We know that it can feel confusing and overwhelming so if you need any help please speak to Kirsten Slinger.
